In order to prevent uncertainty and manage the unexpected in the life-cycle of any project, a Project Manager must possess unique talents setting him or her apart from others supporting projects. A Project Manager must be a leader, a planner, a diplomat, communicator, and expediter. He/she must possess the ability to render sound judgment in technology areas in which he/she is not necessarily an expert. He or she must be able to staff his/her project with people in whose abilities he/she can trust, to know the right questions to ask them, and to recognize the best answer. The Project Manager must be able to motivate the professionals supporting the project, people of various degrees of experience, background, expertise, temperament, and motivations, in order to get the best performance from the team. He/she must be capable of communicating effectively with peers, superiors, and with those who work on the project. He/she must be capable of providing the leadership and coordination necessary to reduce risk to his/her customer.
These unique talents are not possessed by many in our challenging business environment. CANDEF Consultants can provide this capability, as our people process these strengths.
